在空气中能吸收二氧化碳。有水物130℃时开始失水,200℃时完全失水。溶于稀酸、氢氧化铵和氯化铵溶液,微溶于氢氧化钠溶液,几乎不溶于水。溶于氨水形成配离子。有毒。有致癌可能性。用于制取镍镉电池,制备其他镉盐。金属表面处理及气相色谱分析等。
