存在着正龙脑和异龙脑两个差向异构体,其中起主要作用的是正龙脑。龙脑为无色或白色半透明片状结晶,具有类似樟脑及薄荷的混合香气,易溶于乙醇,乙醚、石油醚、苯、甲苯、丙酮、萘烷、萘满、汽油等有机溶剂,微溶于水,易升华。 用于制造龙脑酯类、香料等。
